Tóm tắt

Survival in rollovers requires occupant compartment integrity and good restraint performance (including use of effective reminders) to prevent ejection and to protect an occupant's head and neck. We provide a discussion of why roof strength is critical to survival and present the results of a recent series of quasi-static tests of roof strength. We then propose a simple, direct dynamic test of roof strength that can provide critical new data on roof performance.
