Magnetic phase coexistence in nanosized La0.5–xHoxCa0.5MnO3 manganites

In this paper, magnetic phase coexistence and stability of charge ordering in La0.5–xHoxCa0.5MnO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15) nanosized samples have been investigated. The particle size of all the samples is located between 47 and 62 nm. The studied samples show pertinent phenomena like Griffiths phase, training effect, exchange bias, charge ordering and magnetic phase separation. At 5 K, the application of 10 T magnetic field generates more ferromagnetic domains in Ho-based samples, indicating that Ho substitution destabilizes the long-range charge ordering characterizing the parent compound La0.5Ca0.5MnO3.
