Họ Đậu, là họ thực vật có hoa lớn thứ ba, có sự phân bố toàn cầu và đóng vai trò quan trọng về sinh thái cũng như kinh tế. Chúng tôi xem xét cách mà cộng đồng nghiên cứu phân loại đậu có thể hợp tác để tạo ra một ước lượng phả hệ toàn diện cho khoảng 751 chi và khoảng 19.500 loài đậu, sau đó chuyển đổi nó thành một hệ thống phân loại dựa trên phả hệ. Chúng tôi tổng hợp trạng thái hiện tại của tri thức về phả hệ đậu và nhấn mạnh các vấn đề hiện có, chẳng hạn như trong việc chọn mẫu thuế và độ phân giải phả hệ. Chúng tôi xem xét các phương pháp từ tin sinh học và giải trình tự thế hệ tiếp theo, có thể hỗ trợ cho việc sản xuất các ước lượng phả hệ tốt hơn.
