Phân tích về lithology, phân bố kích thước hạt, khoáng vật sét và địa hóa học của các trầm tích Pleistocene muộn từ Dãy Shirshov dưới nước (Biển Bering) cho thấy vùng nguồn chính là địa hình Yukon-Tanana ở Trung Alaska.
