Tóm tắt

The karyotype of Aspidistra grandiflora from Indonesia is described here for the first time. A. grandiflora has a chromosome number of 2n = 38 and is karyotypically formulated as 2n = 17 m + 11sm + 10st. The average chromosome length is 5.07 μm, and the karyotype asymmetry indexes A1 and A2 are respectively 0.44 and 0.60. The cytomorphology of A. grandiflora is remarkably different from those of the cytologically reported species in this genus with heteromorphy in chromosome size and morphology of the IXth pair of chromosome complement.
