Gen hsrω (hsr-omega) là một gen không mã hóa protein đặc biệt, thể hiện sự biểu hiện phát triển động trong hầu hết các loại tế bào của Drosophila melanogaster và, ngoài việc thuộc gia đình gen sốc nhiệt, còn được kích thích một cách độc đáo trong các tế bào polytene bởi nhiều loại amide. Chúng tôi tổng quan ngắn gọn về các khía cạnh khác nhau của tổ chức, điều hòa và các tính chất có khả năng bị kích thích của gen này và trình bày dữ liệu gần đây của chúng tôi để chỉ ra rằng, tương tự như báo cáo trước đó về sự tương tác giữa các gen hsrω và hsp83, các đột biến tại gen Ras1 hoặc gen Ras3 của D. melanogaster cũng làm tăng rõ rệt tỷ lệ tử vong trước nhộng và nhộng của phôi mang tính nullosomic cho gen này.
