Carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP) và pentachlorophenol (PCP), hai chất tách rời quá trình phosphoryl hóa mạnh mẽ, ức chế đặc hiệu sự hấp thụ nitrit trong quá trình khử nitrat. Những kết quả này hỗ trợ kết luận trước đây của chúng tôi rằng phosphate năng lượng cao tham gia vào quá trình chuyển hóa nitrit.
