Sự ức chế ăn mòn đồng thau bằng 2-Mercapto-1-methylimidazole trong dung dịch kiềm yếu

Hành vi điện hóa của đồng thau và hiệu ứng chống ăn mòn của 2-mercapto-1-methylimidazole (2-MMI) trong dung dịch kiềm yếu có và không có sự hiện diện của ion clorua đã được nghiên cứu bằng các kỹ thuật điện hóa cùng với phân tích SEM-EDS. Kết quả cho thấy hiệu suất ức chế phụ thuộc vào nồng độ chất ức chế và thời gian ngâm điện cực đồng thau trong dung dịch chất ức chế. Cơ chế ức chế của 2-mercapto-1-methylimidazole bao gồm sự hấp phụ của chất ức chế lên các vị trí hoạt động trên bề mặt điện cực, điều này đã được xác nhận bởi phân tích SEM-EDS của đồng thau. Sự hấp phụ của 2-MMI trong dung dịch natri tetraborat tuân theo isotherm hấp phụ Flory-Huggins, trong khi trong sự hiện diện của ion clorua, sự hấp phụ của chất ức chế tuân theo isotherm hấp phụ Langmuir.
