Bài báo tổng hợp kinh nghiệm quốc tế về các biện pháp được chọn nhằm gia tăng việc làm cho người lao động cao tuổi và xác định các phương pháp tốt nhất. Trong số các biện pháp giải quyết trở ngại cho người lao động, bài báo tập trung vào việc thúc đẩy đào tạo, điều chỉnh các dịch vụ việc làm và các chương trình thị trường lao động tích cực cho người lao động cao tuổi, và cải thiện điều kiện làm việc; trong số các lĩnh vực giải quyết trở ngại cho người sử dụng lao động, bài báo tập trung vào việc điều chỉnh các quy tắc bảo vệ việc làm cho người lao động cao tuổi, trợ cấp tiền lương cho người lao động cao tuổi, và thách thức những nhận thức tiêu cực của người sử dụng lao động. Ngoài ra, để cung cấp một cái nhìn về các tiếp cận toàn diện hơn mà các quốc gia đã áp dụng, báo cáo cung cấp ba nghiên cứu trường hợp về các chương trình nhắm đến người lao động cao tuổi tại Vương Quốc Anh, Đức, và Canada.
