Đại dịch COVID-19 đã gây ra những thay đổi chưa từng có trong cuộc sống của 1,6 tỷ trẻ em và thanh thiếu niên. Các nghiên cứu ban đầu không đại diện từ Trung Quốc, Ấn Độ, Brazil, Mỹ, Tây Ban Nha, Ý và Đức đã chỉ ra tác động tiêu cực đến sức khỏe tâm thần. Nghiên cứu hiện tại là nghiên cứu quốc gia đại diện đầu tiên nhằm điều tra tác động của đại dịch COVID-19 đối với chất lượng cuộc sống liên quan đến sức khỏe (HRQoL) và sức khỏe tâm thần của trẻ em và thanh thiếu niên tại Đức từ góc độ của chính trẻ em.
