Để làm rõ vị trí của các kháng nguyên liên quan đến virus viêm gan B (HBV), bao gồm các dạng không cấu trúc, một nghiên cứu vi mô điện tử miễn dịch đã được thực hiện trên mô gan thu được từ 96 trường hợp bệnh gan mạn tính với sự hiện diện kéo dài của kháng nguyên HBs và những người mang kháng nguyên HBs không có triệu chứng. Kết quả thu được như sau.
