Phẫu thuật cắt bỏ tế bào (CRS) và hóa trị liệu nhiệt độ cao trong khoang phúc mạc (HIPEC) là những thành phần quan trọng trong điều trị các khối u ác tính ở màng bụng. Việc cắt bỏ hoàn toàn tế bào một cách vĩ mô là nền tảng cho một liệu trình điều trị đa mô hình thành công. Vai trò của hóa trị liệu trong khoang phúc mạc vẫn còn chưa rõ ràng. Bài tổng quan này giải thích các nguyên tắc và ý nghĩa của HIPEC trong khái niệm điều trị đa mô hình.
