AbstractRate constants for the reactions of the NH2(X2B1) radical with ethane, propane and cyclohexane were measured in an isothermal flow system. Kinetic data were obtained at 4 mbar helium pressure in the high temperature range given below. [NH2](t)‐profiles were mapped at pseudo‐first order conditions [NH2]0→[RH]0 with the laser induced fluorescence technique. The temperature dependance of the rate constants is represented by the following Arrhenius‐expressions: A in [cm3/mol·s] and EA in [kJ/mol]: magnified image A correlation of the activation energy with the energy of the broken C–H bond of various hydrocarbons is discussed.
