Chúng tôi đã đánh giá 103 bệnh nhân mắc thoát vị bẹn gián tiếp (IIH) để tìm hiểu mối liên hệ với bệnh tim bẩm sinh qua phương pháp siêu âm tim. Các bất thường tim bẩm sinh được phát hiện ở 32% bệnh nhân mắc thoát vị bẹn, tỷ lệ này cao một cách đáng kể so với các nghiên cứu dựa trên quần thể ở Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ và các nghiên cứu dựa trên quần thể khác. Thông liên thất và bất thường van tim là các dị tật thường gặp nhất. Các phát hiện của chúng tôi cho thấy việc sàng lọc bệnh tim bẩm sinh là cần thiết đối với trẻ em mắc thoát vị bẹn gián tiếp.
