Để xác định liệu đào tạo phản hồi sinh học biến thiên nhịp tim (HRV-BF), so với điều kiện kiểm soát giáo dục tâm lý có thể tăng cường sự tích hợp của hệ thần kinh trung ương và hệ thần kinh tự động như được đo lường bằng các chỉ số tâm lý thần kinh ở bệnh nhân bị chấn thương não nhẹ (mTBI). Người tham gia được tuyển chọn từ hai bệnh viện đại học ở Đài Bắc, Đài Loan. Tổng cộng 49 người tham gia bị mTBI đã được tuyển cho nghiên cứu này. Bốn mươi mốt người tham gia đã hoàn thành nghiên cứu, 21 người trong nhóm giáo dục tâm lý và 20 người trong nhóm HRV-BF. Nghiên cứu được kiểm soát ngẫu nhiên. Danh sách triệu chứng sau chấn thương, phiên bản Đài Loan của Bảng hỏi rối loạn chức năng điều hành, Bảng hỏi lo âu Beck, Bảng hỏi trầm cảm Beck, và Thang đo gây khó chịu của Đại học Quốc gia Đài Loan đã được sử dụng như các biện pháp tự báo cáo chức năng tâm lý thần kinh.
