Chăm sóc cháu cung cấp cho ông bà một cơ hội để duy trì lối sống tích cực và vẫn giữ được sự gắn kết xã hội trong tuổi già. Các nghiên cứu đã xem xét mối liên hệ giữa việc cung cấp sự chăm sóc cho cháu và khả năng nhận thức của ông bà.
