Gas-flow-induced population inversion in argon discharge
Tóm tắt
The inverse population of excited atomic states in the electric discharge in argon at elevated pressures is created in a longitudinal turbulent gas flow as a result of the transformation of the positive column from the state of a uniform noncontracted discharge to the contracted state, which is followed by superluminescent flash generation. It is suggested to use this phenomenon for the creation of a gas-flow-controlled discharge laser.
