Trong nghiên cứu này, chúng tôi kết nối hai dòng tài liệu về đầu tư trực tiếp nước ngoài, cụ thể là các nghiên cứu về lựa chọn mô hình thành lập (tức là sự lựa chọn giữa việc mua lại và thành lập mới) và các nghiên cứu về lựa chọn mô hình gia nhập (tức là sự lựa chọn giữa một cơ sở hoàn toàn thuộc sở hữu và một chi nhánh có quyền sở hữu chia sẻ).
