First Measurements of the Magnetic Axis of Quadrupole Magnets for the NICA Collider
Tóm tắt
Magnetic cryostat system of the Collider is currently being assembled as part of the NICA megascience project. The structural units of the Collider are 70 quadrupole magnets (46 arched, 12 in straight sections and 12 final focus lenses). To correctly alignment these magnets in the beam orbit of the Collider, the position of the magnetic axis has to be determined with an accuracy of ±0.1mm. Vibration wire techniques provides the required measurement accuracy. A new measuring system intended for operations at ambient temperature has been developed and commissioned. The design of the stand and results of measurements of the magnetic axis position are presented.
