Đối mặt với những thách thức từ việc mới thành lập, thiếu hụt nguồn lực, và những lo ngại về khả năng tồn tại, các doanh nghiệp mới thường xuyên phải đối diện với những quyết định đạo đức khó khăn và có thể bị áp lực để đưa ra những lựa chọn trái ngược với các nguyên tắc của lý luận đạo đức và đạo lý phát triển hơn. Nghiên cứu này khám phá tác động của sự mới mẻ và định hướng khởi nghiệp đến khí hậu đạo đức của các doanh nghiệp. Dữ liệu thu thập từ 304 cá nhân tại 37 doanh nghiệp cho thấy sự mới mẻ của doanh nghiệp có mối liên hệ mạnh mẽ hơn với khí hậu đạo đức so với định hướng khởi nghiệp. Kết quả cũng tiết lộ rằng sự mới mẻ của doanh nghiệp có thể được khái niệm hóa một cách hữu ích theo cả hai phương diện liên tục và phân loại, với mỗi phương pháp hoạt động có mối quan hệ hơi khác biệt với khí hậu. Cuối cùng, kết quả chỉ ra rằng kích thước doanh nghiệp có liên quan đến một số loại khí hậu đạo đức.
