Nhiều nghiên cứu đã được công bố để đánh giá mối liên hệ giữa biến thể di truyền FASLG T844C và độ nhạy cảm với ung thư vú, nhưng dữ liệu lại gây tranh cãi. Một phân tích tổng hợp đã được thực hiện để đánh giá mối liên hệ một cách toàn diện. Chúng tôi đã tiến hành tìm kiếm toàn diện trên PubMed, Embase, và Web of Science để tìm các nghiên cứu đủ điều kiện. Cuối cùng, sáu nghiên cứu với tổng số 6.784 người tham gia đã được đưa vào phân tích tổng hợp. Trong sáu nghiên cứu này có tổng cộng 3.382 ca mắc ung thư vú và 3.402 đối chứng. Tỷ lệ odds (OR) với khoảng tin cậy 95% (95%CI) được sử dụng để đánh giá mối liên hệ. Tóm lại, có một mối liên hệ rõ ràng giữa biến thể di truyền FASLG T844C và ung thư vú dưới tất cả bốn mô hình so sánh (đối với C so với T: OR = 1.26, 95%CI 1.05–1.50, P = 0.011; đối với CC so với TT: OR = 1.42, 95%CI 1.11–1.81, P = 0.005; đối với CC so với TT/TC: OR = 1.41, 95%CI 1.06–1.88, P = 0.019; đối với CC/TC so với TT: OR = 1.16, 95%CI 1.01–1.33, P = 0.038). Trong phân tích con theo sắc tộc, có một mối liên hệ rõ ràng giữa biến thể di truyền FASLG T844C và ung thư vú ở người châu Á, nhưng không có mối liên hệ rõ ràng ở người da trắng. Phân tích tổng hợp cho thấy có một mối liên hệ giữa biến thể di truyền FASLG T844C và độ nhạy cảm với ung thư vú, đặc biệt là ở người châu Á.
