Tóm tắt

Mối liên hệ giữa thương mại, phát triển tài chính, tiêu thụ năng lượng tái tạo, chất lượng môi trường, đầu tư trực tiếp nước ngoài và tăng trưởng kinh tế là rất quan trọng cho sự phát triển bền vững và các chiến lược môi trường. Do đó, nghiên cứu này đã làm sáng tỏ mối liên hệ này tại các nền kinh tế có thu nhập thấp và cao từ năm 1996 đến 2020. Khác với hầu hết các tài liệu trước đây, nghiên cứu này sử dụng một chỉ số tổng hợp về chất lượng môi trường, một chỉ số tổng hợp về phát triển tài chính và một chỉ số tổng hợp về tỷ lệ thương mại để đại diện tốt hơn cho chất lượng môi trường, phát triển tài chính và độ mở thương mại, tương ứng. Các ước lượng được điều chỉnh hoàn toàn liên tục và các ước lượng điều chỉnh bias liên tục cùng với phương pháp nguyên nhân Dumitrescu Hurlin được sử dụng để kiểm tra bản chất của mối liên kết giữa các biến được mô hình hóa. Ước lượng dài hạn cho thấy rằng tiêu thụ năng lượng tái tạo và chất lượng môi trường làm tăng trưởng kinh tế ở các quốc gia có thu nhập cao, trong khi cả hai biến này không đóng góp vào tăng trưởng kinh tế ở các nước có thu nhập thấp. Phát triển tài chính thúc đẩy tăng trưởng kinh tế ở cả quốc gia có thu nhập cao và thấp. Thú vị thay, độ mở thương mại gia tăng tăng trưởng kinh tế ở các nước có thu nhập cao, trong khi ở các nước có thu nhập thấp, nó cản trở tăng trưởng kinh tế. Trong mối liên kết nguyên nhân, giả thuyết bảo tồn cho các nước có thu nhập thấp và giả thuyết phản hồi cho các nước có thu nhập cao được xác nhận trong bối cảnh liên hệ giữa tiêu thụ năng lượng tái tạo và tăng trưởng kinh tế. Giả thuyết dẫn dắt nguồn cung cho các quốc gia có thu nhập thấp và giả thuyết phản hồi cho các quốc gia có thu nhập cao được hỗ trợ liên quan đến mối quan hệ giữa phát triển tài chính và tăng trưởng kinh tế. Hơn nữa, đã xác lập sự nguyên nhân một chiều từ tăng trưởng đến chất lượng môi trường và sự nguyên nhân song phương giữa chất lượng môi trường và tăng trưởng kinh tế cho các nước có thu nhập thấp và cao, tương ứng. Cuối cùng, các chính sách môi trường và kinh tế toàn diện đã được chỉ đạo.
