Sáu bộ lọc trọng lực đã được xây dựng và đánh giá để xử lý nước bị ô nhiễm bởi thuốc diệt cỏ fluometuron. Hai loại bộ lọc dựa trên chiến lược cấp nước (cụ thể là, chiến lược cấp nước theo mẻ và liên tục), ba loại môi trường xốp (bao gồm sỏi thô (CG), zeolit thô (CZ) và zeolit mịn (FZ)), và ba thời gian lưu thủy lực (bao gồm 1 ngày, 2 ngày và 4 ngày) đã được đánh giá nhằm tìm ra thiết kế và các tham số vận hành tối ưu trong việc loại bỏ fluometuron thông qua quá trình hấp phụ trên các môi trường xốp. Các thí nghiệm theo mẻ cũng đã được thực hiện và dữ liệu thực nghiệm đã được điều chỉnh theo các mô hình động học hấp phụ và isoterm. Kết quả cho thấy dữ liệu thực nghiệm phù hợp tốt hơn với mô hình bậc nhất giả cho cả ba môi trường xốp đã thử nghiệm và thứ hạng khả năng hấp phụ fluometuron là FZ>CZ>CG. Kết quả cũng cho thấy khả năng hấp phụ fluometuron phù hợp tốt với mô hình Freundlich cho cả môi trường xốp CZ và FZ, và trong mọi trường hợp, giá trị 1/n nhỏ hơn 1 cho thấy rằng hấp phụ fluometuron trên cả hai môi trường là một quá trình vật lý thuận lợi. Theo mô hình Freundlich, khả năng hấp phụ fluometuron cao nhất được ghi nhận cho zeolit mịn (2.29 mg/kg). Kết quả vận hành bộ lọc cho thấy rằng đơn vị FZ với chiến lược cấp nước liên tục tại thời gian lưu thủy lực 2 ngày và 4 ngày đạt được hiệu quả loại bỏ fluometuron cao nhất (34.2%) và tham số quan trọng nhất ảnh hưởng đến việc loại bỏ fluometuron là thời gian lưu thủy lực.
