Cyprinus carpio là một loài cá nước ngọt quan trọng trong ngành thủy sản. Nó đã được sử dụng để tách chiết các chủng probiotic tiềm năng cho ứng dụng trong nuôi trồng thủy sản. Chủng chiếm ưu thế nhất đã được phân lập trên môi trường MRS từ hệ tiêu hóa (GI) của C. carpio và được xác định là Lysinibacillus macroides bằng cách sử dụng dấu phân tử gen 16S rRNA. Nhiều thuộc tính probiotic như khả năng dung nạp acid và muối mật, cũng như độ nhạy cảm với kháng sinh đã được phân tích trong điều kiện in vitro. Hơn nữa, thức ăn viên đã được chế biến từ probiotic (L. macroides) với các nồng độ khác nhau (2, 4, 6 và 8%). Việc nuôi C. carpio đã được thực hiện trong 45 ngày và cho ăn bằng thức ăn được chế biến. Chiều dài lớn nhất (5.14 ± 0.07 cm) và trọng lượng (3.56 ± 0.07 g) của cá con C. carpio được ghi nhận ở thức ăn viên probiotic 8% LM, trong khi cá con được cho ăn bằng thức ăn đối chứng cho thấy chiều dài thấp hơn (3.02 ± 0.13 cm) và trọng lượng (0.92 ± 0.04 g) vào ngày thứ 45 của thí nghiệm. Cả tỷ lệ tăng trưởng trọng lượng (PWG) và tỷ lệ tăng trưởng cụ thể (SGR) đều tăng đáng kể (P < 0.05) ở cá con C. carpio được cho ăn bằng thức ăn probiotic so với thức ăn đối chứng. Do đó, việc sử dụng vi khuẩn probiotic có thể là một lựa chọn khuyến khích cho thức ăn trong các nỗ lực tương lai trong lĩnh vực nuôi trồng thủy sản. Kết luận, L. macroides có thể đóng vai trò như một probiotic cho ngành nuôi trồng thủy sản bền vững, cạnh tranh và đầy hứa hẹn.
