Khuyến nghị về Pre- và Probiotics trong Sữa bột cho Trẻ Sơ sinh

Trong một thời gian, các loại sữa cho trẻ sơ sinh đã được bổ sung với pre- và probiotics. Prebiotics là các thành phần thực phẩm không thể tiêu hóa, giúp thúc đẩy sự phát triển và hoạt động của một số vi sinh vật, chủ yếu trong đại tràng, từ đó tạo ra các hiệu ứng tốt cho sức khỏe. Probiotics là các vi sinh vật sống, có tác dụng tăng cường sức khỏe khi được cung cấp với lượng thích hợp. Đối với những trẻ sơ sinh khỏe mạnh, chưa có bằng chứng lâm sàng thuyết phục về lợi ích của sữa bột giàu pre- hoặc probiotics so với sữa bột không bổ sung. Nếu sữa mẹ không có sẵn hoặc không đủ, trẻ sơ sinh bị bệnh tim, trẻ sơ sinh có hệ miễn dịch yếu và tất cả trẻ sơ sinh và trẻ em bị ức chế miễn dịch không nên được cho ăn bằng sữa bột bổ sung probiotics do sự an toàn chưa rõ ràng trong các tình huống rủi ro này. Nếu sữa mẹ không có sẵn hoặc không đủ, trẻ sinh non nên được nuôi bằng sữa bột dành cho trẻ sinh non mà không chứa probiotics. Các ủy ban dinh dưỡng khuyến nghị thực hiện các nghiên cứu ngẫu nhiên có kiểm soát khoa học chất lượng cao trên các tập thể lớn để đánh giá sự an toàn và tác động của pre- và probiotics trong sữa bột cho trẻ sơ sinh và trẻ sinh non, đồng thời nên khảo sát các hiệu ứng lâu dài nếu có thể.
