Sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử ở thanh thiếu niên: một nghiên cứu cắt ngang tại Hồng Kông

Chưa có nhiều thông tin về việc sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử (e-cigarette) ở thanh thiếu niên Trung Quốc. Chúng tôi đã khảo sát tỷ lệ sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử hiện tại (trong 30 ngày qua) và các yếu tố liên quan trong một mẫu lớn thanh thiếu niên tại Hồng Kông. Chúng tôi đã phân tích dữ liệu từ Khảo sát Dựa trên Trường Học về Hút Thuốc trong số Học Sinh 2012/13 từ một mẫu đại diện gồm 45.857 học sinh trung học (tuổi trung bình: 14,8 ± 1,9). Chúng tôi đã thực hiện các bài kiểm tra chi-square và t-test để so sánh việc sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử hiện tại theo các biến covariates. Chúng tôi sử dụng hồi quy logistic đa biến để xem xét mối liên hệ giữa việc sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử hiện tại và các biến nhân khẩu học, hút thuốc của cha mẹ, hút thuốc ở bạn bè, kiến thức về tác hại của việc hút thuốc lá, thái độ đối với việc hút thuốc lá, trạng thái hút thuốc lá, sử dụng các sản phẩm thuốc lá khác và tiêu thụ rượu. Tổng cộng, 1,1% học sinh báo cáo việc sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử hiện tại. Trong số người sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử, 11,7% là những người chưa bao giờ hút thuốc lá, 15,8% là những người đã thử nghiệm hút thuốc lá, 39,3% là những người đã từng hút thuốc lá và 33,2% là những người đang hút thuốc lá. Việc sử dụng thuốc lá điện tử hiện tại có liên hệ với giới tính nam, kiến thức kém về tác hại của việc hút thuốc, hút thuốc lá, sử dụng các sản phẩm thuốc lá khác và tiêu thụ rượu. Các nỗ lực giám sát và can thiệp nên tập trung vào một loạt các sản phẩm thuốc lá, bao gồm cả thuốc lá điện tử. Các chương trình cai thuốc lá cũng nên đề cập đến việc sử dụng rượu một cách tổng thể. Các chính sách cấm bán thuốc lá điện tử cho người vị thành niên có thể giúp ngăn ngừa việc tiếp nhận thuốc lá điện tử trong số thanh thiếu niên.
