Prochloraz (N-propyl-N-[2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenoxy)ethyl]-1H-imidazole-1-carboxamide) là một loại thuốc trừ nấm nông nghiệp mới. Khi được thêm vào khẩu phần ăn, nó đã kích thích nồng độ cytochrome P-450 trong gan và ruột cũng như hoạt động monooxygenase ở chim cút Nhật Bản (Coturnix coturnix), gà đen (Perdix perdix), gà (Gallus gallus) và gà lôi (Phasianus colchicus). Sau khi tiêm một liều duy nhất vào chim cút, prochloraz đã tác động theo hai pha, tức là đầu tiên ức chế, sau đó lại kích thích hoạt động hydroxylase aniline. Có quan hệ chặt chẽ với mô hình hai pha này, thời gian ngủ do pentobarbital và độ độc của thuốc trừ sâu parathion đã bị thay đổi. Việc sử dụng prochloraz ở nhiều mức liều khác nhau trong khẩu phần ăn của chim cút không ảnh hưởng đến khả năng sinh sản, tỷ lệ thụ tinh và sự phát triển của con cháu.
