Nghiên cứu này đánh giá thực nghiệm tác động của động lực cho việc tặng đồ từ thiện đối với các thực tiễn từ thiện khác nhau của người di cư, cụ thể là tặng đồ từ thiện theo sắc tộc so với tặng đồ từ thiện theo xu hướng chính. Nghiên cứu đặc biệt chú ý đến ba loại động lực chính: động lực hợp lý, động lực chuẩn mực và động lực trách nhiệm công dân. Dựa trên Khảo sát từ thiện của người Hàn Quốc tại Mỹ, nghiên cứu xây dựng một mô hình hồi quy probit hai biến để đánh giá mối quan hệ giữa động lực và các thực tiễn từ thiện.
