Tác động của điều trị selenite đối với các biến đổi siêu cấu trúc trong xương chuột thí nghiệm bị tiểu đường

Được biết rằng bệnh tiểu đường do streptozotocin (STZ) gây ra làm thay đổi chức năng và cấu trúc ở một số loại mô và cơ quan. Nhiều phương pháp đã được sử dụng để đặc trưng hóa các thuộc tính của mô tiểu đường và chẩn đoán của chúng. Các hợp chất selenium, đóng vai trò như một chất chống oxy hóa, có thể hồi phục một số tham số chuyển hóa bị thay đổi và chức năng bị giảm tại tiểu đường thí nghiệm. Mục tiêu đầu tiên của nghiên cứu này là điều tra tác động của bệnh tiểu đường do STZ gây ra lên các thuộc tính cấu trúc của xương dài chuột. Quan sát dưới kính hiển vi điện tử và kính hiển vi sáng cho thấy có những thay đổi có hại trong cấu trúc của xương dài chuột bị tiểu đường, hiệu ứng rõ ràng nhất là ở các tế bào osteocyte. Các quá trình bào tương tinh vi của các osteocyte dường như bị rút ngắn, và bệnh tiểu đường ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến các quá trình bào tương bình thường. Mục tiêu thứ hai của nghiên cứu này là đánh giá tác động của điều trị natri selenite trong 4 tuần lên xương dài của chuột tiểu đường. Quan sát dưới kính hiển vi điện tử và kính hiển vi sáng đã chứng minh rằng việc điều trị natri selenite đã ngăn chặn được những thay đổi cấu trúc cũng như siêu cấu trúc do STZ gây ra ở xương dài của chuột. Kết luận, nghiên cứu này đã chỉ ra rằng một khoảng thời gian bệnh tiểu đường 5 tuần là đủ để gây ra một số thay đổi quan trọng và thoái hóa trong cấu trúc của các mô xương, và thứ hai, nó đã chứng minh rằng việc điều trị natri selenite cho chuột tiểu đường có thể giúp bình thường hóa những thay đổi này.
