Tác động của E-cadherin đối với ung thư đại tràng vẫn còn gây tranh cãi. Để làm rõ tác động của E-cadherin đối với tiên lượng và các đặc điểm lâm sàng - bệnh lý của ung thư đại tràng, một phân tích tổng hợp đã được thực hiện. Các cơ sở dữ liệu PubMed, Embase và Thư viện Cochrane đã được sử dụng để thu thập tất cả các tài liệu liên quan được công bố trước tháng 11 năm 2021, và dữ liệu tương ứng đã được trích xuất để phân tích mối tương quan giữa biểu hiện của E-cadherin và tiên lượng cũng như các đặc điểm lâm sàng - bệnh lý của ung thư đại tràng. Thêm vào đó, Phân tích Tương tác Hồ sơ Biểu hiện Gen (GEPIA) đã được sử dụng để xác thực kết quả của chúng tôi. Năm mươi hai nghiên cứu, bao gồm 9591 bệnh nhân, đã được đưa vào phân tích tổng hợp này. Theo phân tích tổng hợp, biểu hiện thấp của E-cadherin có liên quan đáng kể đến thời gian sống sót toàn bộ (OS) ngắn hơn (tỷ lệ nguy cơ [HR] 2.09, khoảng tin cậy [CI] 95% 1.67–2.62; Z = 6.42, p = 0.000) và thời gian sống không bệnh (DFS) (HR 2.03, 95% CI 1.71–2.42; Z = 7.95, p = 0.000).
