Een kickbokser met een acuut compartimentsyndroom van het bovenbeen

Het compartimentsyndroom van het bovenbeen (CSB) is een zeldzame diagnose. Door het grote volume van het compartiment, de elasticiteit van de fascie en de ontsnappingsmogelijkheid naar het gluteale gebied voor vocht, treedt het slechts zelden op. Indien er niet adequaat wordt ingegrepen, kan dit leiden tot necrose van spier- en zenuwweefsel en andere ernstige complicaties. We bespreken een casus van een kickbokser met gecombineerd letsel van het linkerbovenbeen en de rechterknie. Na tijdige fasciotomie en het coilen van een beschadigd vat links werd er in tweede instantie een voorste-kruisbandplastiek rechts verricht. De patiënt had een voorspoedig herstel.
