Chúng tôi báo cáo trường hợp của một cậu bé trẻ tuổi bị khiếm khuyết lưng của xương bánh chè (DDP) với gãy xương sau một chấn thương thể thao nhỏ. Cha mẹ của bệnh nhân (những người chuyên nghiệp trong lĩnh vực chăm sóc sức khỏe) đã được cảnh báo về khả năng có bệnh u ở một lần khám trước đó và yêu cầu chẩn đoán chính xác. Mặc dù gãy xương hiếm khi được báo cáo trong trường hợp DDP, hình ảnh X-quang mạnh mẽ đã gợi ý tình trạng này; tuy nhiên, độ chính xác trong chẩn đoán mà cha mẹ yêu cầu đã dẫn đến việc chỉ định một cuộc sinh thiết cho thấy các mảnh xương dạng lam và những đảo sụn hyaline tương tự như sụn khớp, tương thích với một khiếm khuyết tạo xương phát triển không đặc hiệu.
