Mức tổng chất rắn hòa tan (TDS) cao trong nước uống có thể gây ra nhiều vấn đề cho cơ thể con người, chẳng hạn như cứng khớp, sỏi thận, sỏi mật, và cũng có thể dẫn đến sự cứng động mạch và đôi khi là tắc nghẽn động mạch trong những trường hợp nghiêm trọng. Mức TDS của nước ngầm ở khu vực tỉnh Punjab, Pakistan được coi là biến phản hồi (trường ngẫu nhiên) trong bài viết này. Các phương pháp kriging thông thường dựa trên mô hình (OK), kriging thông thường Bayesian (BOK), và quy trình dự đoán không gian Gaussian được sử dụng để mô hình hóa phân bố không gian của biến phản hồi. Những phương pháp này cuối cùng ước lượng các bản đồ dự đoán và xác suất với giới hạn ngưỡng đã chỉ định. BOK thực hiện tốt hơn OK và quy trình dự đoán không gian Gaussian về sai số dự đoán bình phương trung bình căn bậc hai. Nghiên cứu này cho thấy rằng mức TDS cao hơn giới hạn cho phép của WHO (1.000 mg/l) được phát hiện trong 24% mẫu. Các huyện Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Hafizabad, Khushab, Nankana Shaib, Okara và Toba Tek Singh của tỉnh Punjab đã được ghi nhận có mức độ quan ngại lớn.
