Chúng tôi báo cáo về một phương pháp voltammetry phân cực anodic để xác định thiếc sử dụng điện cực carbon thủy tinh được biến tính bằng bismuth và poly(bromophenol blue). Sau thời gian tích lũy 60 giây ở -1.20 V (so với SCE), phản ứng của điện cực với thiếc trong dung dịch HCl 1.0 M có tính chất tuyến tính trong các khoảng nồng độ từ 20 nM đến 1.0 μM, và từ 1.0 μM đến 20 μM, với giới hạn phát hiện là 7.0 nM (tại SNR = 3) và độ lệch tiêu chuẩn tương đối trong khoảng 3.0–3.8%. Phương pháp này đã được xác minh bằng cách so sánh các kết quả với những kết quả thu được qua AAS và đã được áp dụng thành công để xác định thiếc trong thực phẩm đóng hộp.
