Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu này là điều tra sự biểu hiện của enzyme tổng hợp axit béo (FAS) và ErbB2 trong biểu mô miệng không ác tính và các khối u carcinomas biểu mô vảy ở miệng hoặc vùng đầu-cổ (OSCC/HNSCC). Các mẫu biểu mô miệng bình thường, tăng sừng, và loạn sản cũng như các khối u OSCC phân biệt tốt và phân biệt kém đều được đánh giá bằng phương pháp nhuộm miễn dịch hóa học đối với FAS, ErbB2 và Ki-67. Những protein này cũng được phân tích trong một lớp vi mô mô với 55 mẫu HNSCC. Các tế bào SCC-9 được sử dụng để nghiên cứu sự biểu hiện của FAS và ErbB2 trong quá trình phân biệt.
