Nghiên cứu này báo cáo điều tra về các đặc tính vật lý và cơ học của thạch cao hạt mịn (alabastrine) và thạch cao hạt thô (porphyritic) từ Sivas, Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ. Các đặc tính địa kỹ thuật được cải thiện khi kích thước hạt giảm. Kiểm định t của Student cho thấy sự khác biệt được báo cáo giữa giá trị trung bình của độ bền trơ đối với nước, độ cứng Schmidt, cường độ nén không bị giới hạn, mô đun Young và độ bền kéo của hai loại thạch cao là có ý nghĩa thống kê. Các kết quả cho thấy kết cấu, đặc biệt là kích thước và hình dạng hạt, là một tham số quan trọng điều khiển sự khác biệt trong các tính chất cơ học của hai loại thạch cao đã được nghiên cứu.
