Chẩn đoán bệnh celiac (CD) vẫn là một thách thức lâm sàng dựa trên tỷ lệ độ đặc hiệu và độ nhạy không đầy đủ của các xét nghiệm không xâm lấn hiện nay. Hơn nữa, các đánh giá mô học không xác định được tất cả các trường hợp rõ ràng và, đặc biệt, không thể hiện những thay đổi đặc trưng bệnh lý trong các trường hợp lén lút. Do đó, đa số các trường hợp CD bị chẩn đoán muộn. Nghiên cứu gần đây về sinh bệnh học của CD đã cho phép chúng tôi xác định một neo-antigen dường như là công cụ huyết thanh học hứa hẹn nhất cho việc phát hiện kháng thể chống lại transglutaminase mô cũng như kháng thể chống lại gliadin.
