Developing a New Hydrose Wash Technique for Treating Denim Fabric
Tóm tắt
Over the past few decades, different denim washing techniques have been developed to achieve different fading effects and an aesthetic look. In this study, a new hydrose wash technique has been developed for the optimum color fading with minimal loss of physical properties of denim fabrics. Here, 340 gsm denim fabric was treated in equal quantities of hydrose and sodium hydroxide and evaluated the fading and mechanical properties of the treated fabric. In addition, some properties of denim fabrics like strength, elongation, weight loss, GSM, EPI, PPI, absorption, shrinkage, CMC value, whiteness index, k/s value and color fastness properties were examined to evaluate the impact on the variation of the concentration of hydrose. It is noticeable that change in concentration reveals a considerable difference in different properties of denim fabrics such as strength loss about 7–15% in warp and 0.5–16% in the weft direction with elongation change of 0.5–5% in the warp and 5–12% in the weft directions. In the end, it has been obtained that at 6% hydrose and sodium hydroxide in equal quantities concentration condition in washing recipe represents the better result in the case of mechanical, fading and fastness properties compared to other concentrations.
