Các yếu tố quyết định khí thải carbon dựa trên tiêu thụ ở Chile: ứng dụng của ARDL phi tuyến

Trong những năm gần đây, ngày càng có nhiều học giả sử dụng các chỉ số khác nhau về sự suy thoái môi trường để hiểu rõ lý do phía sau sự gia tăng của suy thoái môi trường. Tuy nhiên, rất ít nghiên cứu xem xét khí thải carbon dựa trên tiêu thụ, mặc dù việc hiểu rõ tác động của các mô hình tiêu thụ là điều thiết yếu để điều chỉnh mô hình này sang tiêu thụ bền vững hơn. Do đó, nghiên cứu này tiến thêm một bước bằng cách sử dụng khí thải carbon dựa trên tiêu thụ (CCO2) làm chỉ số của sự suy thoái môi trường bằng kỹ thuật ARDL phi tuyến mới cho Chile từ năm 1990 đến 2018. Theo hiểu biết tốt nhất của các nhà nghiên cứu, chưa có nghiên cứu nào trước đây điều tra các yếu tố tác động đến khí thải carbon dựa trên tiêu thụ sử dụng ARDL phi tuyến. Nghiên cứu sử dụng các bài kiểm tra ADF và KSS (phi tuyến) để kiểm tra mức độ dừng của chuỗi dữ liệu. Ngoài ra, các phương pháp ARDL đối xứng và bất đối xứng được sử dụng để khám phá sự đồng liên kết và mối liên hệ dài hạn. Theo các kết quả, không có sự đồng liên kết đối xứng giữa các biến; tuy nhiên, các ước lượng thực nghiệm cho thấy một mối liên hệ không đối xứng dài hạn giữa các chỉ số và khí thải CCO2. Những kết quả mới mẻ từ ARDL bất đối xứng cho thấy rằng những thay đổi tiêu cực và tích cực trong tăng trưởng kinh tế làm giảm chất lượng môi trường. Thú vị là, việc giảm tăng trưởng kinh tế đóng góp nhiều hơn vào sự suy thoái môi trường. Hơn nữa, những thay đổi tích cực trong việc sử dụng năng lượng tái tạo cải thiện chất lượng môi trường ở Chile, suy ra rằng quốc gia này có thể đạt được giảm thiểu sự suy thoái môi trường bằng cách tăng cường tiêu thụ năng lượng tái tạo. Đáng ngạc nhiên, nghiên cứu phát hiện rằng đổi mới công nghệ không hiệu quả trong việc giảm khí thải carbon dựa trên tiêu thụ, điều này ngụ ý rằng đổi mới công nghệ của Chile không được định hướng vào việc sản xuất công nghệ xanh. Cuối cùng, các khía cạnh chính sách được thảo luận liên quan đến việc giảm khí thải carbon dựa trên tiêu thụ.
