Description of chitosan binding to DNA at varied ionic strength within the framework of ion condensation and adsorption theories

Chitosan binding to DNA was studied in solutions of different ionic strength. Data were analyzed within the model of ion condensation and the thermodynamic theory of extended ligand binding to DNA. The combination of these approaches allowed us to assess the sterical and energy characteristics of chitosan binding to DNA and to find the dependence of chitosan binding constant on solution ionic strength.
