De onverwachte uitkomst van een enkeldistorsie

Wij beschrijven de casus van een initieel gemiste diagnose bij een patiënte die zich presenteerde op de polikliniek Orthopedie met klachten van haar rechterenkel die persisteerden na een enkeldistorsie. Voorafgaand aan haar bezoek is patiënte gezien op de Spoedeisende Hulp (SEH) en behandeld door een fysiotherapeut. Bij het lichamelijk onderzoek was er pijn op te wekken over de mediale malleolus en posterieur daarvan (d.w.z. de pees van de m. tibialis posterior). Röntgenologisch onderzoek rapporteerde een avulsiefragment distaal van de mediale malleolus en een luxatie van de tibialis posterior pees (TPP). Er vond een operatieve terugplaatsing van de TPP plaats, met een reconstructie en verankering van het retinaculum op de tibia.
