Curcumin cải thiện trí nhớ không gian và giảm tổn thương oxy hóa ở chuột cái già

Sự suy giảm nhận thức do lão hóa đã được ghi nhận rõ ràng trong nhiều năm và một số chiến lược chống oxy hóa đã được phát triển để chống lại sự suy giảm này. Curcumin là thành phần hoạt tính của nghệ (curcuma longa) và đã cho thấy các đặc tính chống oxy hóa, chống viêm và bảo vệ thần kinh. Chúng tôi giả thuyết rằng curcumin sẽ ảnh hưởng đến các chức năng nhận thức ở chuột cái già. Vào cuối các bài kiểm tra hành vi, mẫu máu và mô não được lấy để phân tích mức malondialdehyde (MDA), carbonyl protein và glutathione. Trong suốt phiên đào tạo, việc bổ sung curcumin đã giảm độ trễ để đến được nền tảng và tổng khoảng cách di chuyển. Trong phiên kiểm tra thử nghiệm, việc bổ sung curcumin làm tăng số lần vượt qua nền tảng. Ngoài việc kiểm tra hành vi, kết quả sinh hóa cho thấy mức độ MDA giảm trong mô não nhờ bổ sung curcumin. Có thể kết luận rằng, bổ sung curcumin cải thiện các chức năng nhận thức bằng cách giảm hiện tượng peroxid hóa lipid trong mô não của chuột cái già.
