Sở thích về quốc gia xuất xứ của những người giữ cổng kênh phân phối khi tìm nguồn hàng thực phẩm nhập khẩu đã được điều tra thông qua các cuộc phỏng vấn sâu tại năm thị trường châu Âu. Cảm nhận của các thành viên trong kênh về hình ảnh sản phẩm-quốc gia liên quan nhiều hơn đến các vấn đề cụ thể về sự tin cậy và niềm tin vào tính toàn vẹn của sản xuất, chứng nhận và hệ thống quy định hơn là các khuôn mẫu hình ảnh quốc gia. Nghiên cứu này tích hợp các yếu tố quyết định niềm tin này với các khái niệm giá trị cảm nhận từ giá cả nhằm xây dựng một mô hình toàn diện áp dụng cho những người giữ cổng kênh thực phẩm.
