Mặc dù có sự gia tăng rủi ro liên quan đến hành vi tự làm tổn thương ở thanh thiếu niên cộng đồng, mức độ mà những đặc điểm này có liên quan đến hành vi tự làm tổn thương ở thanh thiếu niên bị giam giữ vẫn chưa được khảo sát nhiều.
