So sánh hiện tại về viêm nội tâm mạc do Candida albicans và Candida parapsilosis: một nghiên cứu nhóm

Trong số 1655 bệnh nhân liên tiếp mắc viêm nội tâm mạc nhiễm trùng được điều trị từ năm 1998 đến 2020 tại ba trung tâm chăm sóc sức khỏe cấp ba, có 16 trường hợp do Candida albicans (CAIE, n = 8) và Candida parapsilosis (CPIE, n = 8). So với CAIE, CPIE thường thường gặp hơn trong cộng đồng. Sự tham gia của van nhân tạo đặc biệt phổ biến hơn ở những bệnh nhân mắc CPIE. Các trường hợp CPIE có tỷ lệ cấy máu dương tính cao hơn khi nhập viện, cấy máu vẫn dương tính liên tục sau khi khởi đầu điều trị kháng nấm và cấy van dương tính. Tất cả bệnh nhân trừ bốn người đều phải phẫu thuật tim. Phẫu thuật khẩn cấp thường được thực hiện nhiều hơn ở CPIE. Không có sự khác biệt về tỷ lệ tử vong trong bệnh viện được ghi nhận, ngay cả sau khi điều chỉnh theo phương pháp điều trị.
