Số lượng hạn chế các bài báo hiện có liên kết giữa sự cạnh tranh giữa các tổ chức tài chính vi mô (MFI) và lãi suất vay vi mô cung cấp những kết quả không rõ ràng và trái ngược. Bài báo này sử dụng dữ liệu từ 1997 MFI hoạt động tại 109 quốc gia trong giai đoạn từ năm 2003 đến 2016 để xây dựng ba phép đo cạnh tranh và đánh giá tác động của chúng đến lãi suất.
