Coherent spontaneous phase oscillations in storage rings

The authors have made experiments on various types of phase instability in the V'EPP-2 and V'EP-I storage rings. They studied phase auto-oscillations of a bunch as a whole and the decay of a bunch into two parts which oscillate separately, They observed excitation of auto-oscillations during interaction between the bunch and the resonator at the 18th harmonic. They measured the threshold currents versus the tuning of the principal and auxiliary resonators.
