Dựa trên dữ liệu thu thập từ một cuộc khảo sát các cảnh sát tại Trung Quốc, nghiên cứu này nhằm hiểu tác động của hành vi khiêu khích của công dân đến thái độ của cảnh sát về việc sử dụng bạo lực. Nghiên cứu xem xét liệu quan điểm của các sĩ quan về việc sử dụng bạo lực có thay đổi tùy thuộc vào hành vi khiêu khích của công dân trong các cuộc tiếp xúc giữa cảnh sát và công dân hay không. Dữ liệu mô tả cho thấy một thiểu số sĩ quan không coi việc sử dụng bạo lực được mô tả trong ba kịch bản là không thích hợp.
