Tóm tắt

The article is devoted to the results of the study of the chemical composition of non-ferrous metal objects belonging to the horizon of East European champlevé enamels (2nd–3rd/4th centuries). The sample currently contains 270 samples, items come from excavations of settlements and collections from the territories of the Volga–Oka interfluve, the Dnieper region, and the forest-steppe Don region. The sample recorded the presence of several types of alloys and metals, among which multicomponent alloy (CuZnSnPb), two-component brass (CuZn), tin brass (CuSnZn), lead brass (CuPbZn), and triple bronze (CuSnPb) dominates. They occupy more than 75% of the sample. Zinc-containing alloys, which absolutely dominate in the sample of objects from the horizon of East European champlevé enamels, are a kind of “romanization index” indicating the presence of contacts with the Roman Empire on its periphery.
