Các đặc điểm của những người chơi cờ bạc gọi đến đường dây nóng của Hội đồng Cờ bạc Vấn đề Connecticut (CCPG) trong các năm 2000–2001 (n = 960) được xem xét dựa trên việc có hay không có vấn đề sử dụng rượu tự báo cáo. Tỷ lệ người gọi báo cáo vấn đề với việc sử dụng rượu tương đối thấp (173/960 hay 18.0%), và trong số những người thừa nhận có vấn đề về sử dụng rượu, phần lớn báo cáo là vấn đề trong quá khứ hơn là hiện tại (143/173 hay 82.7%).
